Technical Information

My process for painting oil on canvas includes traditional methods. The canvas is professionally stretched on handmade frames then it is primed with white gesso three times so that the colors look brighter on the finished painting. I usually let it sit overnight.

The ideas start from an abstract sketch on the canvas and it may take few days or weeks to complete. Once finished, the painting is normally paper-backed, and a hole is cut out of the middle of the backing, allowing the oil to 'breathe'. The paper backing provides physical protection, plus a degree of protection against dust and dirt. An oil painting never completely dries, and if a hole is not provided through the backing for ventilation, mold may develop on the canvas. Some of the paintings are framed with hand made wood frames. Paintings are sold as original art and an certificate of authenticity is issued.

Paintings Size are (approx.): Small 27x27 Medium 32x32 Large: 60x40 triptych and diptych

The technique that we use for prints is called Giclee. Initially, the artwork is photographed with a high mega pixel digital camera; once an image has been digitized, we make a production proof -Artist Proof to ensure that colors and contrast match the original. Once a final proof has been approved by the artist, we create a Production File for the edition. This locks in the color and density adjustments made during the proofing process, and sets in other parameters. The edition size for a work of art is set in advance. Once set and made public we will NEVER change them. We are always true to your clients.

The Paper used in the giclee process is a Museum Quality Paper: 100% Cotton, Velvet Finish- Acid Free, Radiant White-225 gsm. With normal, proper care the giclee prints will last more than 100 years. All prints are matted simply with 100% acid free museum mats and prints are available unframed or framed with black frames.

With each image we include a detailed original invoice and a certificate with particulars.
